It all started in the 1950s and little by little De Valk became a specialist in working steel, initially for skates, later for furniture. The first piece of furniture to be produced was the unavoidable “school chair”, which immediately became a hit. A symbol of Nordic modernism that has invaded the rest of the world. In the 60's they were “the” Dutch chairs. In the 70s and 80s, they became school, museum and office chairs all over the world. Today it is literally a museum piece.
